- What kind of metals do you use? Most pieces are made with either gold-filled or sterling silver metals. If other metals are used we do our best to indicate that.
- What is gold-filled? Gold-filled metal has 100 times the amount of gold than a gold plated item. It is mechanically bonded gold to a base metal like brass. It must contain 5% gold or 1/20 to be labeled as such. Gold-plated or dipped is a thin layer or gold which is plated over a base metal or sterling silver. Vermeil is gold-plating, with 18 or 24K gold over sterling silver and must have a thickness 2.5 micrometers of gold.
- When will my order ship? Most jewelry is made to order and takes an average of 3 days to ship. If you are in a hurry contact us and we often can rush your order.
- Do you do custom orders? Yes, contact us for special orders.
- How should I care for my jewelry? Gold-filled jewelry is tarnish resistant and should last very well. If it gets dull take a standard jewelry cloth and gently wipe. Sterling Silver jewelry will tarnish a bit and can be cleaned with a sterling polishing cloth. Swimming pools and the ocean and lots of sweat are not good for jewelry so try to avoid.
